I was reminded this week that sometimes my friends see more in my work than I do.
That’s why I keep doing it, painting.
I think any artist who says they don’t create art for other people, but only to please themselves, might be a little disingenuous.
If that’s the case why even show anyone your work, let alone try to sell it?
Anyway, here’s a piece from a few years ago, Rolling Hills, based on a photograph I took while vacationing in the central valley of California in 2001.
